Kathmandu, 16 July 2015: Apex Media Club had organized Smile Festival 2015 with the theme ‘Let’s bring back Smile’ on July 12, 2015 at Apex premises from 11 am to 8 pm. It is the annual event which promotes Smile Culture.
This Intra-college event exhibited 50 out of 200 photos submitted by students based on the theme ‘Smile’. Also, there were separate section of photographs related to recently hit earthquake. Around 100 media persons and corp orates were invited at this event.The chief guest for the event was Mrs. Anuradha Koirala. Approximately 2200 people visited the event.
Special attractions of the events were photo exhibition, food stalls, face painting, games, acoustic eve among others. Spreading smile, knowing the essence of smile both in and outside the college was the main vision behind smile event.
The photos showcased stories from different walks of life and stories behind them were emotion evoking. Most of the visitors expressed deep warmth and melancholy while looking at the photos.The photos reflects the pain of earthquake, smile of reliefs and light of hope. “Smile can heal a frozen heart so it is the biggest transcendental therapy”, one of the beautiful quote.
Various musical programs, dance programs and even caricature made the program alive and more beautiful. The Smile Festival truly stood for its name.
In the interview with Mrs. Pratigya Adhikari ,Faculty and event consultant at apex shared her ideas about the Apex smile culture,”Apex smile has been started since 2013 with the motive to bring smile and charm in every individual’s face in spite off hardship and difficulties. She highly praised the students enthusiasm, participation and active dedication in making the whole event success.
All graphics prints, photos and design were made by students themselves and also organized whole program systematically. Management is proud to provide a platform to enhance and showcase the skills and talents within the students.
Likewise, marketing officer of Apex, Manish Maharjan who is playing an important role in promotional activities and internal branding of college events said, ” Apex smile culture represents that If you are Apexian you must smile”. The main achievement according to him is that all visitors, students and guests were smiling all the time throughout the event.
Some of the participantes namely: Aastha Satya, Aadarsha khadka and sunaina Acharya etc told that the event was very exciting, beautiful graphics and inspiring quotes as well as the photos exhibitions were the main attraction of the apex smile culture. ” We all enjoyed the event a lot “, they added.
No one left hand empty, everyone left with a very important message that to smile and make other smile is the true form of service. A service which is done with unconditional heart. The whole program was successful to make the participants smile.
