Chinese tourist dies in Ghandruk

Falebas (Parbat),17 October 2014: A Chiese tourist died in Ghandruk along the Annapurna Trekking Route last night.

The Chinese national, who took shelter at Bhuraj of Ghandruk, breathed his last while returning from Annapurna Base Camp, said Buddhiman Tamang, a tourist guide.

He said no trekker reaching Annapurna Base Camp have been stuck on the way through life-threatening blizzard took place in several places leading to the base camp due to effect of Hudhud Cyclone that swept through India.

However, the trekkers were not allowed to take stride one day due to rain during the entire day, said Peter Chhetri, another trekker.

The number of trekkers reaching the Annapurna Base Camp has increased this time compared to previous years. Daily more than 300 foreign tourists and roughly 100 domestic tourists went for trekking via Birethanti.
