Kathmandu, Oct 17,2014:Â The Ministry of Home Affairs has urged all the concerned to conduct cultural programmes, including Deusi and Bhailo, only up to 7 pm on the occasion of Tihar, the great festival of the Nepalis.
Issuing a press release today, the Ministry stated that it made this request in view of the security as people involved in untoward activities might adversely impact the law and order situation while conducting such programmes in course of the Tihar festival.
Likewise, the Ministry has requested one and all not to produce, import, export, sell and supply, transport and use explosives like firecrackers and fireworks during the Tihar and Chhath festivals as the use of these materials might cause injuries, have adverse effects on the health of the general public and start fires leading to loss of life and property, and not to allow their children to play with these inflammable materials.
Anyone found disobeying this notice would be dealt with in accordance with the existing laws, the Ministry cautioned.
