Damauli,3 Feb 2015: Nepali Congress Vice President Ram Chandra Poudel has said that the present education should produce skilled citizens.
Inaugurating the 22nd anniversary of Siddhabeni Lower Secondary School at Vyas Municipality in Tahanun on Tuesday, he said: “Now, education should be scientific and skill-generating”.
Saying that much is left to do in education sector, Poudel stressed for promoting quality in community schools.
Meanwhile, Vice-President Poudel on Tuesday laid a foundation stone of Sude Motorable Bridge over Seti River that connects Keshavtar VDC to Kahun Shivapur VDC.
The economic condition of the people residing in southern belt of the district is expected to lift after the bridge construction.
Lawmakeres Dhruba Wagle, Jhul Bahadur Ale, Chief District Officer Raj Kumar Shrestha, Local Development Officer Bandhu Prasad Bastola and others were also present at the programme.
Engineer of Road Division Office Nabraj Bastola said that the bridge construction would be completed by 2074 BS. The estimated cost of the road construction is Rs 94.6 million.
