Bhaktapur,3 Feb 2015: Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa on Tuesday said Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) must make efforts to include all the disgruntled parties in the constitution writing process.
At a face-to-face programme held by Rafat Media Club Bhaktapur on Tuesday, RPPN Chair said if the ruling parties failed to persuade the agitating parties, it could imperil democracy itself.
The leader argued that NC and UML must not advance with the greed of majority votes. He ridiculed the Questionnaire Committee calling it a body of the ‘so-called intellectuals’.
Thapa added that the decision to bar any questions from being raised over secularism, republic and federalism had ushered in an authoritarian character and asserted the authority to the same did not lie with the Questionnaire Committee. He further said RPPN would accept the verdict of the people given over the agendas of his party if it were ever sent to the people for their say.
“The agendas of RPPN must be allowed to be sent to the people, if the people vote against, we will accept it,” he said.
