Government of Nepal plans to bring reform in education and equal women representation

Kathmandu, February 26, 2018: In a function organized on the 38th anniversary of Dilli Bazar Kanya Campus, Thammaya Thapa Magar, Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare, has stressed upon the need and role of women to change the society. Thammaya also assured that the government of Nepal would bring core and substantive policy for the development of education sector.

She mentioned that education makes women accomplished which allows them to drive the country towards progress and prosperity, seeking women’s representations at every State apparatus. Seeking women’s representations at every State apparatus, she added “The role of women is vital to change the society.”

From the report of CBS 2011, the female literacy of Nepal has risen from 37 percent to 57 percent in one decade. This is a milestone for Nepalese women but when compared to the male representation of 75 percent the condition requires a lot more improvement.
