Females Attracted To Technical Education Grows

Jhapa, August 6, 2018: In Jhapa, there is a high increment in the number of female students that are interested in technical education these days. The interest of female students is visible in the rising enrolment rate in technical courses in Damak.

Amda Institute of Health Science conducted an entrance and 441 students appeared in the test this year in which 70% of them were female. It is affiliated with the Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training that offers the courses for Staff Nurse, Lab Assitant, CMA, ANM and Health Assistant. According to the data of the institution, 12 students for ANM, 681 students for CMA, 52 for Lab Assistant and 46 for HA appeared the entrance test. The highest number that is 134 students appeared the entrance exam for staff nurse.

The institute intake 40 students under each programme. And in staff nurse program 15% male quota has been allocated. Officer of the institute, Pradip Shrestha mentioned that the quota allocation for males has not yet encouraged a single male to apply.
