Kathmandu, Oct. 29: The high level political coordination committee has discussed whether the Vice-President could be elected from the Tharu, Dalit and marginalized communities.

The committee meeting held at Prime Minister’s residence Baluwatar Thursday evening discussed which region, community and the political party could be best for fielding candidate of the Vice-President. However, the meeting could not reach any conclusion, said committee member and CPN-ML General Secretary CP Mainali, adding that the meeting would meet again on Friday morning.
The election for the Vice-President is being held on Saturday.

So far, the UCPN (Maoist) has decided to field Nanda Bahadur Pun for the post of the Vice-President while Nepali Congress has forwarded Amiya Kumar Yadav.
