Bhaktapur, Nov 24: A team headed by the Home Secretary on Monday inspected the preparations underway at Bhaktapur’s heritage sites to be visited by the first ladies of four different South Asian countries and assessed the security scenario.

Home Secretary Surya Silwal, Inspector General of Police Upendra Kant Aryal, Armed Police Force Inspector General Koshraj Onta, National Investigation Department Chief Jit Bahadur KC, Bhaktapur Chief District Officer Anil Kumar Thakur including chiefs of all three security bodies of the district took assessment of the preparations and security arrangements for the 18th  South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit, according to District Administration Office.

The team toured the Bhaktapur city from the Southern Eastern entrance point from Tourist Bus Part at Byasi to Municipality Office, the Durbar  Square and the Taumadi square and inquired of the security arrangement.

Meanwhile CDO Anil Kumar Thakur said the preparations for the visit by SAARC dignitaries to take place from 10 am to 12 at noon on 26 November were completed.
