Hopes of Change concludes workshop on ‘Empowering Youths for SDG’


Kathmandu, 13 January, 2018: With the motive of helping youths to identify and understand Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and work on achieving them, Hopes of Change with the support of International Youth Federation conducted a workshop named ‘Empowering Youths for SDGs’ on 12 January.

This workshop was organized at Asian Institute of Technology & Management (AITM), Satdobato in the presence of more than 50 youths of high schools.

Scheduled in three different sessions, Mr.Abad Enriquez from Philippines, Ajay Pandey from Nepal and Chowdhury Kaiser Mohammad Riyadh from Bangladesh delivered their speeches in the sessions.

In the first session, Abad Enriquez, the executive director of Asian Education Network and Youth Ambassador in Asia explained about the importance of SDGs and how youths can contribute toward achieving it. His session was basically focused on the importance of youth for SDGs.

The second session, “Lead yourself” had its speaker Ajay Pandey, the President of Hopes of Change and Country representative of International Youth Federation. He mentioned that any change is possible with youth power and youths should know the power of change within themselves. His session focused on leading oneself to achieve goal.

Chowdhury Kaiser Mohammad Riyad, the co-founder of Life&Happiness Foundation talked about being happy and successful in life. He stressed that avoiding themselves from issues like depression is the key to staying focused and happy.

The vice president of Hopes of Change Abhibind Khaniya mentioned that workshops like ‘Empower Youths for SDGs’ help students to understand about global and national issues and make students ready to face them.

Hopes of Change is a youth led organisation working for youth empowerment and child education since 2014 A.D. It has been working all over Nepal focusing youth empowerment with the belief that youths are the change makers of the society.
