Kathmandu, March 10, 2018: In order to mark International Women’s Day and stand together for gender equality and women empowerment, ‘The WoMen. Co’ cafe, a social enterprise that roots for gender equality is set to organize International Women’s Day- Stand Together on March 13, 2018, at Pulchowk, Lalitpur.
Keeping up with the motive of the program, WoMen. Co will be hosting various programs as a part of its event. Carnival sort of stalls featuring all the women-led organizations, Exhibition comprising of photographers, painters, poets and artists, Hands in Equality- Handprint Campaign, Slate Photography and Story session are the sole attractions that will be featuring the real picture of the purpose of the event. Furthermore, music, poetry, drama and stand-up comedy will be featured as a part of its entertainment session.
Revolving around the theme of ‘The role of the most influential women in my life’, the story session will shade light onto gender equality and International Women’s Day 2018 campaign theme ‘#pressforprogress’.
Anupama Aura Gurung, Miss Nepal Earth 2011 and Founder of Rebel Apparel and Human Connection; Bipana Sharma, Glocal Teen Hero 2015 and child rights activist; Anuj Petter, LGBTQI Activist and second runner-up of Mr. Gay Nepal 2017 will be featured as the guest speakers for the story session of the event.
Hatti Hatti, an enterprise that aims to empower marginalized women of Nepal and Rebel Apparel, women-led women-clothing store, are set to showcase their stalls in the event.
