Baglung, Sept 21: When emerged victorious in the by-election of the Constituent Assembly, lawmaker Champa Devi Khadka had cherished a dream to realize the wish of her husband to frame a new constitution.
The promulgation of the new constitution on Sunday not only materialized her dream but also decided the fate of tens of millions Nepali people.
The pain she passed through after the demise of her husband Hari Bahadur Khadka has been somehow relieved now with the commencement of the new constitution.
She commented that the promulgation of the new constitution has also relieved the departed soul of her husband who lost his life in the journey of constitution writing.
“I am feeling dignified. I got an opportunity to own up the historic responsibility”, she said, adding, “My husband’s dream of delivering constitution to the people through CA has come true today”.
CA member from Baglung constituency no 1 Champa Devi’s husband and Nepali Congress leader Hari Bahadur Khadka died in a road accident in 2014.
“The responsibility the people entrusted me after the tragic demise of my husband has been over now”, she said, adding, “Constitution-making has been accomplished and the time has come to advance development works in the country”.
