Birgunj, Sept 9: Life is gradually returning to normal with the District Administration Office, Parsa reducing the time of the prohibitory order that it had imposed in the town area.
The daily activities have started to pick up in Birgunj with the easing in the timing of the prohibitory order. The DAO has lifted the orders from 9 am to 1 pm today. The DAO had also relaxed the time of the prohibitory order on Tuesday from 9 am to 1 pm and then from 4 pm to 7 pm.
People have started thronging the commodity shops and provision stores with the easing of the prohibitory orders.
The life in the district had become very hard due to the nine days of the issuance of the prohibitory orders by the district administration following the violent clashes between police and the agitating United Madhesi Front protesting the federal delineation.
The market, shops, transport services and industries and educational institutions and financial institutions in the town have remained closed for 26 days due to the protest movement waged by the Front. As a result business and trade activities were halted and the daily life badly hit. Birgunj is the main trade centre and transit point in the central region.
