Michael Eavis: 'It Would Be Great To Have Oasis Relaunch At Glastonbury'

5 November,2014: Michael Eavis has confirmed that he is interested in having both Oasis and Taylor Swift perform at Glastonbury in 2015.

Though Oasis are not currently together, they have remained a favourite with bookmakers and fans alike to appear at the Worthy Farm event next year. Speaking to The Mirror, Eavis has admitted that he is in regular contact with both Liam and Noel Gallagher and that he would be interested in having the band start over again at his festival.

“I do talk to Noel and Liam a lot,” Eavis said. “Wouldn’t it be marvelous for them to relaunch at Glastonbury now Liam has split from Beady Eye?”

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift will be in Britain for a series of live shows on the same weekend as Glastonbury takes place next year, leading some to speculate that she may be appearing at the festival. Responding to the rumours, Eavis said that he has an idea for where she may fit on the bill. “Taylor Swift would be great to follow the Dolly Parton slot – especially being a country singer,” he said.

Dolly Parton pulled one of the biggest audiences in Glastonbury history with her Sunday afternoon slot at this year’s festival.

Eavis previously ruled out the possibility of Queen or Fleetwood Mac headlining Glastonbury in 2015. Both bands were among bookmakers’ favourites to play the Pyramid Stage next year. However, Eavis said neither act will appear, with Fleetwood Mac said to be “unavailable”.
