MSP Nepal Summit 2014 Day 1 Ends Successfully

Sauraha, 17 October 2014:Microsoft Innovation Center(MIC) Nepal organized this year’s Summit for Microsoft Student Partners (MSPs)for Nepal at Hotel Seven Star, Sauraha.

MSPs from MSP 2015 and MSP Alumni of 2014 joined the event taking the total number of Youth Tech Enthusiast and Learners to 134. MSPs participants were from  5 different cities of Nepal; Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, Butwal and Birgunj.

The event started early afternoon at Hotel Seven Star in the Conference hall with the keynote of Mr. Allen Bilochan Tuladhar, Country Director, Microsoft Innovation Center Nepal.

The event continued with keynote from Mr. Ed Steidl, Global Program Manager for the worldwide Microsoft Innovation Centers network. He motivated youths to learn and pursue their dreams in Microsoft and tech world.

Nirisha Shrestha from MIC Nepal covered about Women in Technology and coding, with We Speak Code, Hour of Code and International Women Hackathon and inspired female participation in the field of computing.

MSPs from each city then presented City Spotlight, the highlights and lowlights of MSP program.

MSPs were then entertained with Tharu Cultural Dance of Chitwan and Talent Show from MSPs and a surprise performance from MIC Nepal Family and Guest of Honor, Mr. Ed Steidl.

The first day program was continued till 1 AM for Graveyard Session where MSPs presented about different topics related to technology.

The day ended with a review of the day from the Country Director of MIC Nepal, Allen Tuladhar.

The MSP Summit will be 3 days long from October 17 to October 19, 2014 and cover various aspect for these MSPs.
