Kathmandu: The government is planning to organize various programmes for celebrating the 70th National Democracy Day grandly. The country will be celebrating the National Democracy Day with fanfare by organizing various programmes for three days from 19th-21st February. Various programmes like rally, sports events, symposiums and cultural programmes will be held across the country.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the main organizing committee of National Democracy Day celebrations has been constituted under the leadership of the Prime Minister to conduct the programs across the country. Three subcommittees have been formed for the promotion and podium decoration.
Kathmandu Metropolitan City and all municipalities of Kathmandu valley will conduct cleanliness campaign and organize talks programme on Radio Nepal on February 19 and the main day will mark special function at Nepali Army Pavilion, Tundikhel at 9:00 am on February 20. On the occasion, the Nepalese Army will shower flowers from a helicopter.
MoHA said the president, vice president, prime minister, chief justice, speaker of the House of Representatives, chairperson of the National Assembly, former prime ministers, ministers, lawmakers and chiefs of constitutional bodies and security agencies will attend the function.
