Kathmandu, January 24, 2019: National Reading Mela 2019 is going to be held at Rastriya Pragya Prathistan, Kathmandu on 9th February from 9 AM to 5 PM is a annual program that is being carried out since 2017 with a successful results. This is a event where all the reader and writer comes and share their joy of reading, their experiences, poetry concert, book exhibition and other live music concerts. Last time they had a 6000 of participants involved in this program. Whereas they are looking for more participants this year.
This event is organized by Sikshya Nepal which is a non-profit organization. Sikshya Nepal is implementing this program with a vision of eradicating day to day reading culture of Nepal. They have three strategic programs; Reading Classroom, Ek kitab campaign and Reading Mela.
National reading mela which is conducted under the provision of Sikshya Nepal but is of national level which will be including 30 writers like, Amar Neupane, Narayan Wagle, Subin Bhattarai, Radha Poudel, Anuradha and other public personalities supporting the ‘reading culture’. Carrying out the dreams of providing every child their development rights, where reading can be a a festival that is celebrated like other festivals, to stimulate the awareness of reading and to inspire and extend their horizon of knowledge. National Reading Mela is looking forward for as many participants as possible to come join their dreams.
