National Sports Council to Organize Handball Championship in Pokhara

Pokhara, 28 December, 2017:  Nepal Handball Association, under National Sports Council, is set to organize eighteenth Men’s and ninth Women’s National Handball Championship in Pokhara. In a press conference held yesterday, the organizers announced that the competition will be held from January 1 to January 4, 2018 at Pokhara Stadium.

Tej Gurung, Central Chairperson of Nepal Handball Association, mentioned that the male and female teams from all five development regions, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army will be competing against one another for the title.

The best players of this competition will be selected for the thirteenth South Asian Games (SAG), scheduled to be held in 2019.

District Handball Association, Kaski in partnership with the main sponsor, Hong Kong Beauty Institute will be coordinating the event.

The winning team of the championship will bag Rs 30,000 and the second and third prize winners will be awarded with Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
