Kathmandu, December 7, 2018: Rotaract Club of Patan conducted their second dental screening camp at Shree Bisankhu Narayan Secondary School, Godamchaur, Lalitpur. The club came up with this plan of need based screening camp series. It was first started from Adarsha Kanya Niketan, Mangalbazar lalitpur where almost 115 students were screened for dental hygiene.

The second edition of this camp series was conducted by the club today with medical support from Nidan Hospital Ltd. where a total of 108 students were checked. Most of the students had a good oral hygiene whereas 4-5 students had a serious case which needed immediate attention. The school has also been conducting regular hygiene classes for students so most of the students were found to brush their teeth regularly. All the students were provided with a toothbrush and taught about how to brush your teeth correctly.

The club president Rtr. Peshal Bhattarai said, “Dental screening is a very important subject and we have made it a mission this year. We have done screening of over 250 students and our target is to conduct screening on 5000+ students inside Lalitpur district. I am glad that the school has made a good effort in keeping the students healthy with regular concern about their health. They have very less number of cases of cavities and calculus.”

The club will be conducting this camp in more than 10 schools inside Lalitpur district. This year they have more focus on oral hygiene and education for their community service projects. The camp was a successful one and the students will be provided necessary dental services in future from Nidan Hospital. The event was well coordinated with a total of 6 rotaractors present along with two medical staffs from Nidan Hospital Ltd.
