Kathmandu, December 18, 2018: Miss Nepal Manita Devkota reached top 10 in Miss Universe 2018 that took place on 17 December 2018 at IMPACT Arena, Muang Thong Thani in Nonthaburi Province, Thailand. Contestants from across 94 nations participated in the Miss Universe 2018.
This is the second time that Nepal participated in Miss Universe. Manita was one of the strongest contestant in the mega contest were Nepal was in the limelight for being one of the most popular auction items at Thai Night. She works with an organization called ‘Days for Girls Nepal’ to empower Nepali girls and women who have been facing menstrual health challenges.
This year, Catriona Gray of Phillippines has been crowned as the Miss Universe 2018, Tamarya Green of South Africa as the first runner up and Sthefany Gutierrez of Venezuela as the second runner up.
