Nepal Tourism Board to conduct tourism training

Kathmandu: The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has planned to conduct tourism training with a target of 5,000 people taking into consideration Nepal Visit Year (2020).

As the board member stated, the purpose of the training is to promote the tourism year, contributing to the goal of welcoming two million tourists during the period. Training for taxi and tourist vehicle drivers, homestay operation training in villages, nature guides, Chinese and Russian language, trekking guides, mountain leaders and local tours training will be given to many who will contribute to making the year a success.

Similarly, the training package will cover immigration services, first aid treatment of tourists, Nepalese handicraft skills, sanitation and health practices, capacity building, proper management and promotion of tourism business, women-centered tourism business and digital marketing.

The manager of the board, Mr. Santosh Kumar Ghimire said that they would present many tourist organizations. The Board has allocated Rs. 20 million for Visiting Nepal Year promotion training, but this is insufficient as Ghimire said. In coordination with the local levels, the Board plans to introduce other types of tourism promotion programs.

Similarly, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation is preparing to provide an additional 5,000 human resources tourism training.
