Kathmandu, 25th December,2014Â : Foreign Minister of China, Wang Yi,Â arrived here today on a three-day official visit, leading a seven-member delegation. He is visiting at the friendly invitation of Minister for Foreign Affairs Mahendra Bahadur Pandey.
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, the ministeral delegation was welcomed by Acting Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Shankardas Bairagi. Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai was also at TIA to receive the high-profile delegation from his home country.
The Chinese Foreign Minister is scheduled to hand over on Friday medical equipments worth Rs 200 million to the Civil Hospital, New Baneshwor constructed with the support of Chinese government. General Administration Minister Lalbabu Pandit will receive 26 medical equipments from the C
hinese minister and after the handover ceremony, the two will hold bilateral talks.
During his stay in Nepal, the Chinese Minister will pay separate courtesy calls on President Dr Ram Baran Yadav and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala on Friday afternoon itself.
Then after, he will attend a reception to be hosted by the Chinese Ambassador in his honour. Prior to the reception, he will hold a meeting with Health Minister Khagaraj Adhikari. As per the schedule, Mr Wang would fly to Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, on coming Saturday.
This is the first visit at the foreign ministerial-level from China in Nepal taking place after the government change there. The visit is expected to add a new dimension to Nepal-China relations.
