Kathmandu, July 22, 2016: Parliament’s Good Governance and Monitoring Committee on Friday decided to summon all the officials of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) including CIAA chief Lokman Singh Karki for discussions. The meeting will be held on Sunday.
The Committee’s meeting today decided to call on a meeting to hold discussions regarding the CIAA’s move to take over the entrance examination of Kathmandu University School of Medicine.
Following the meeting of the parliamentary committee on Friday with the KU officials, many parliamentarians had argued that CIAA officials must be present in the discussion to understand the matter.
The CIAA had on May 28 conducted post-graduate entrance examination of KU School of Medical Sciences after it claimed that questions of the examinations were leaked. This move of CIAA was widely criticised for breaching its jurisdiction and interfering on an autonomous university.
