PM PLEDGES EXPANSION OF ROADS FROM BIRATNAGAR TO SUNDARIJAL

Kathmandu, Sept 10: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has said that initiatives would be taken for expansion of roads along Biratnagar to Sundarijal that BP Koirala was brought on foot. At a seminar organized by BP Koirala Foundation on the birth centenary of popular leader BP Koirala here Wednesday, PM Koirala made this statement after participants raised concerns over blacktop of the road that BP walked on foot to Sundarijal from Biratnagar.

“It is totally wrong that Nepali Congress forgot BP’s socialism. We are working to materialize BP’s socialism,” the Prime Minister said supporting expansion of roads. Stating that efforts were being continued to highlight the socialist thoughts across the world, Prime Minister Koirala said the developed countries have also internalized BP’s thoughts to end the problems like poverty and suppression.

 Also speaking at the programme, CPN (UML) senior leader and former prime minister Jhalanath Khanal said that BP Koirala is the leader of great stature who contributed a lot to forward socialism, make people sovereign and establish democracy in the country. Khanal said BP Koirala is an inspirational figure of this time as he was a successful leader to end the Rana oligarchy and party-less Panchayat system and expand country’s foreign relations keeping intact Nepal’s image as a sovereign nation.
