PRESIDENT YADAV VISITS KRISHNA TEMPLE, RECEIVES TIKA AND PRASADA

Lalitpur, Aug. 17: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has visited the Shree Krishna Temple at Patan in Lalitpur district this morning on the occasion of Shree Krishna Janmastami.On the occasion, President Yadav, who arrived here at 8:10 am, performed worship and received Tika and Prasada from temple’s main priest, Rabindra Sharma.

The president also visited the historical stone stout (Mangal Hiti), located in front of the Temple premises. On the occasion of Shree Krishna Janmastami, a grand fair has taken place today at the Patan Durbar area. Krishna Janmastami is one of the greatest festivals of Hindu religion.

According to the Festival Management Committee, thousands of devotees have queued up since early this morning to pay homage to Lord Krishna. The temple has been opened from 1:00 am.

The Mangaltole Improvement Committee, which has taken the responsibility for the festival management, said that tole improvement committee, local committees, Nepal Scout, Red Cross Society, Reyukai and hundreds of volunteers have been deployed for the same.

Committee Chairman, Kiran Pradhan, said that a large number of volunteers and police personnel have been deployed to help devotees to worship Lord Krishna in an easy manner.Male and female have lined-up in separate line and an arrangement of a separate line has been made for senior citizen and disabled people, he added.Sharma said that more than 100,000 people will visit the temple this year.
