How many times have you promised yourself that you will study from now onwards? The countless number of times, right? And how many times did you execute your plan? Try to remember! You will find none except some few exceptional cases we all have always promised to do something or the other but ended up breaking the promises. Not only in terms of the study, but there are also various other things where we tend to do so.

Procrastination is one of the most common problems not only among the students but the adults too. We tend to keep on piling up things for the future and later when the deadline approaches we need to complete everything hastily and we end up cursing ourselves. Again we promise ourselves to be punctual the next time but the next time never really comes. This happens to all of us.

This cycle continues on and on for our whole life but what can we do to mitigate it? There are several things if you follow properly will help you get rid of the clutches of this contagious habit. First of all, we must all make a to-do list. In that list, include all the things that you have to do or complete within the next 24 hours. Make sure you complete all those things within the predicted time. At the end of the day, give tick marks to everything that you’ve completed. Try to complete as many tasks as possible. This will not only help you keep your records but also track your efficiency. You will be able to complete your task within a certain period. This trick will surely help to increase your efficiency and help you get focused towards the goals.

Furthermore, another common reason for failing to complete the task is unwillingness or disinterest in the job that you are going to perform. If you have an interest in a task and you enjoy doing it you can perform and finish it within no time but if you have very little inclination towards something then it’s certain that there is a chance that you will perform with less enthusiasm and excitement.  Life is a journey where you will across different situations and circumstances. You will not always things you love. Sometimes you need to tackle the things that you hate the most.

The environment where you live or work will also matter a lot. It directly has an impact on you and your quality of work. If you get distracted easily by the small things, you need to stop that. For instance, while you are performing or doing some work make sure that your phone is out of your sight because you will want to check social media sites time and again and that will consume your lot of time. This way you will be able to complete the task more efficiently and effectively.

Procrastination will do nothing but pile up the things and creates more hassle. So, let’s all pledge to get rid of this habit to make our life more meaningful.
