Rautahat,12 Nov 2014: The District Forest Office (DFO) Rautahat has instructed the respective VDCs and the Chandrapur Municipality not to register the people residing around the Chure and forest areas as the landless squatters.
The DFO Rautahat has further demanded a thorough probe into the case before providing them with the landless identity card.
The notice has been issued in the light of the past incidents of the municipality accrediting people as the landless squatters without an in-depth verification.
Many people residing around the forest areas here were found fudging the information so as to obtain the ‘Landless Identity Card’ and the land thereafter after the Landless Squatters’ Problems Resolution Commission asked the squatters a requisition, Baburam Bhandari, Chief of DFO, Rautahat said.
