Rajbiraj,16 Dec 2014: Contract-based employees relieved from the Koshi Pump Chandra Cannel Irrigation Management Division no. 2 Office have continued the fast-unto-death today too, demanding their reinstatement at the office.
The office decided to remove 32 staff appointed on the contract-basis from last October 18, citing age-limit and in the protest of the office move, they began hunger strike last Sunday. They have been on agitation since November 11, with a charter of five-point demand.
They have demanded the continuity of their service at the office, golden handshake for the employees serving at the office till 10 to 30 years and life insurance of the workers working in sensitive areas, among others.
Regular activities at the office have been affected due to the agitation.
