Kathmandu, June 4, 2015: Nepali Congress office bearers held discussions on the six-province modality in connection with federating the country on today’s meeting.
The the six-province modality would be appropriate and a commission should be formed for demarcating the new provinces and the province assembly itself would name the provinces, leaders said Speaking in the meeting.
According to Party spokesperson Dilendra Badu, they agreed to prioritize constitution drafting process after making consensus on disputed issues of the new constitution. further he added that it would be better to form the national consensus government only after finalizing the disputed issues of the new constitution.
The meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence at Baluwatar today, reviewed the talks held so far among the parties on the constitution drafting process, disaster management and formation of national consensus government.
Likewise, the meeting discussed further work plan of the party to clearly address the issues. Not only that but leaders even discussed on having a 70 per cent direct and 30 per cent proportional electoral system in the new constitution.
similarly the party joint general secretary Purna Bahadur Khadka,informed that they have discussed on several options on the disputed issues of the constitution as well. besides that parties are holding several bilateral and multilateral discussions on the disputed issues, disaster management and formulating the consensus government.
