Jajarkot, Feb 11,2015: Solar power panels have been made available to 95 marginalised households in Khalanga, the district headquarters of Jajarkot District.
The solar power panels were made available to these families free of cost with the financial support of an organisation called the Karuna Sechan Foundation in collaboration with the Modern Flavour Pvt Ltd and under the coordination of the Kushe Cottage and Small Industries, Khalanga.
Each household has been provided with solar power panel with a capacity of generating 20 Watts of power to light up their homes.
A majority of the households are economically poor and belong to the dalit and indigenous nationalities community. These families did not have electricity facility despite living close to the district headquarters.
