22 December 2014:Long-serving Hull defender Paul McShane’s future at the club looks to be in doubt after manager Steve Bruce hinted at a rift between the pair.
McShane has not played for Hull since 8 November andtweeted that he would be training with the Under-21s squad.
Bruce responded: “I could go to Twitter and tell you the reason why he’s with the Under-21s but maybe Paul can enlighten you.
“I’ll never go to the media or Twitter on things which remain in-house.”
McShane, 28, is the only player still at Hull who was in their 2008-09 Premier League campaign.
The Republic of Ireland international has started 100 league games for the Tigers but may not figure again, despite Hull’s mounting defensive injury problems.
Bruce added: “Maybe he’ll go on Twitter and tell the real reason why, then you’ll all know.”
Michael Dawson is out for a month and both Curtis Davies and Alex Bruce came off with calf complaints duringSaturday’s 1-0 defeat at Swansea which stretched Hull’s winless run to 10 games.
Former Sheffield United defender Harry Maguire, 21, made a Premier League debut as a substitute but Bruce hopes club captain Davies will recover in time to face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Boxing Day.
