New Delhi, March 10, 2016: “I don’t mind going to jail if the court wants me to”, said Sri Sri Ravi Shanker the founder of Art of Living.
When asked by a TV channel during an interview whether or not he will go to jail for having refused to pay the fine for the three-day International Culture Festival proposed to be held on the Yamuna floodplains here, he said: “Yes, I will”.
He said he would not pay the fine of Rs.5 crore slapped by the National Green Tribunal.
Permission to held the World culture Festival organized by Art of Living Foundation was granted by the court under a condition that it pay an advance fine of Rs. 5 crore.
“The structure created for the event is temporary and will be dismantled after the event. We wanted to create awareness about Yamuna through this event,” he said.
