Feb 5,2015: “Yuva Prerna Yatra†with the mission of “Empowerment through Enterprise†is an initiative of I For Nation Foundation which is a 7 days Himalayan livelihood awareness program with 100 highly passionate young participants (rigorously selected from a big pool of applicants) from across the globe to meet the real Champions of Change to get inspiration from their work. It is conducted annually in the summers since 2013 in Himalayas.This year’s Yatra is schedule in the month of April (5th to 11th April 2015).
As Himalayan region is facing the big challenge of migration due to lack of optimal livelihood opportunities, this program aims youth to connect them with the local resources and techniques to develop regional capacity to reduce poverty and migration in the Himalayan region.
The purpose is to empower the local community by providing them with social and financial dividends with global perspective and explore the sustainable livelihood possibilities for the entire community by grasping the possible reasons of migration and poverty in the region.
The program is targeted to those young passionate future leaders for this Program, who will be able to grasp the Himalayan region problems and who will be able to use and customize the traditional knowledge, thereby providing adaptation strategies based on regional and global perspective.
