An artist enjoys splashing colours in a blank canvas to portray his thoughts. But this young teenager is inspired to share this artistic quality in order to groom the creative skills of youths. Rhythm Sah is a 17 year old teenager who is really passionate about sketching and wants to work in the field of Visual Effects (VFX) in future. He has also been running a non-profit workshop on sketching and drawing. He is planning to take this to a whole new level by registering it officially and taking the idea of interactive learning further. Currently he is conducting workshops in different government schools in Nepal to empower the youths.

Starting of his journey

On enquiring about the start of his journey, Rhythm quoted,”Well in our classes, there used to be a tendency where teachers actually didn’t bother to quench our thirst of curiosity. When we used to ask them about the topic that we didn’t understand, our teachers used to simply reply, Just rote! The more you mug up, the more marks you will get. And seriously many of my classmates did the same”.  But he opines that is not the real learning. “If we do something practically, we can understand better and simultaneously explain it better. So then I decided to start the workshop where I can share my perception about practical knowledge. Immediately after completing my SEE exam, I started visiting various schools and started conducting different non profit workshops”, he further said.

Making a difference

On asking about his contribution in the social impact, Rhythm explained,”I have been conducting workshops in the government schools of Nepal with the core value that there are endless possibilities for ones career. In a few days after my workshop, many students really started contacting me. It felt really good to inspire so many people. In just two months, I was able to connect with 500+ students.

At the beginning, the students whom he met didn’t have any idea on what they wanted to do in future and most of them could barely think apart from the careers like doctor or engineer just because of their parents and the trend. Through his workshops,  he helped them to understand that they should do what they actually wanted and showcase what they have. He says, “And now when I meet those lovely people, they have a dream with subject which they are passionate about. This is my first step to make them skilled in what they do. I believe this will have a huge impact on the development of societies and the country  in the coming days. Training the youth for me is shaping the future. “

A step towards teen hero

In the next five years, Rhythm sees himself as a leader in VFX field and most importantly an inspirational figure among youths. He also said, “Since I am in the list of the Glocal’s 20under20 , I feel more privileged and motivated to work harder. I want to prove the world that anything is possible. I want to broaden my network so that I can connect with more and more people to discuss the idea that theoretical and practical learning should go parallel.” He wants to develop the country by helping producing skilled human resource which will be no less than the best human resource of the world.

Rhythm is a true patriot who is really concerned about the country’s future led by impractical and theory-based education. His one step to empower youths regarding need of practical education is a true inspiration for many of us.
