May 24, 2015: Zinc sheets in a subsidized rate is to be provided to quake survivors in Nepal by a multinational company, “The Aarati Strips” located in Biratnagar.
The retail price of each bundle of the sheets along with tax from Rs 2,890 to Rs 8,436 based on the gage of the sheets has been determined by the company. The company has been producing 300 metric tonnes of zinc sheets every day. There are total 400 Nepali workers working in the company factory.
Since in present situation there is high demand for corrugated sheets in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake, so the government has prohibited the export of zinc sheets.The company exports zinc corrugated sheets worth Rs 6 billion to India annually.
