Mero Book: A platform created by Code for Nepal to initiate online book donating practices

Kathmandu, February 27, 2018: With a motive of providing textbooks to the students, Code for Nepal has commenced online book donating platform, ‘Mero Book’.

Concerning the severe problem of lack of textbook in many government schools of Nepal, Code for Nepal has designed the concept of an online platform for donating books. Reusable textbooks can be donated by filing all the book details and submitting to the site. A person who is in need of book can view the recorded database of the book and communicate with the book donor and receive it.

Ashwin Dhakal, Developer of Mero Book quoted, ‘‘An online book donation platform could be a highly supportive step towards providing student their dreams of good education with quality study books’’. He also opined that he is hopeful of the platform will be one of the promising steps towards building a well-educated nation.

This online platform for donating books is a positive initiation aimed to connect people for a good cause and serving the educational sector of the country.

Code for Nepal is a non-profit organization registered in the U.S. with the major focus on increasing digital literacy and increasing access to open data. It has been listed in Forbes 30 Under 30’s in Asia.
