Kathmandu, August 6, 2017: City Centre Mall located at Kamal Pokhari saw a different look last Friday afternoon. The visitors could get mild refreshment on the occasion.

A group of 18 girl changemakers from empowHER, a young women leadership and program, had organized an event named ‘Aasha’ at the ground floor of the shopping mall.

There were phenomenal social entrepreneurs showcasing their works in stalls featuring cute emoji pillows, sturdy DOCHAA shoes, hand-made accessories, paper crafts, and splendid cards especially for ‘Father’s Day’ designed by deaf women, beautiful Mehendi designs. The face-paint stalls attracted a lot of children who loved getting their faces painted with a blend of colors.

Most of the children were seen enjoying their favorite flavors of ice-cream in the ice-cream stall. People also had their gadgets undergo a free antivirus scanning at the stall of Angel Binary Antivirus. One of the visitors, eating some cool cucumbers being served in the event, expressed, “This event was really refreshing for me and my daughter. She loved the emoji pillows so much; she doesn’t even want to go back home.”

The event also featured a free Salsa Dance workshop by social media personality, Sanna Tsering Gurung teaching salsa basics to a mass keen to learn Salsa. The session entertained mostly youths, laughing and enjoying the session. There were also some musical performances which lured all the window-shoppers at City Centre to gather at the hall.

Nancy Agrawal, one of the organizers, enthusiastically shared, “The response from people is overwhelming. We are glad to see both children and adults enjoy the event thoroughly. It gives us great pleasure on hosting this event seeing happy faces everywhere.”
