Kathmandu,22 Feb 2015: An unidentified person on Sunday attacked two adolescent girls with acid at Basantapur, Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) -27, leaving them injured.
Police confirmed that the unknown person threw acid on the girls while they were sitting inside A Minus Plus Tuition Centre based in Jhonchhe of Basantapur.
The injured are Sangeeta Magar, 16, of Khaniyapani-8, Ramechhap, who is currently residing in Basantapur and Seema Basnet, 15, of Rautahat, Paurahi-1 and presently living in Basantapur, police informed.
Sangeeta has burns on her chest, stomach and leg while Seema has burn injury on her face. Sangeeta is undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital and Seema is being treated at Kathmandu Medical College, Sinamangal.
Search for assailant is underway, police added.
