Application opens for US Embassy Youth Council 2016-17

Kathmandu, June 7, 2016: US Embassy Youth Council, a community of Nepalese Youths established to inform the U.S. Embassy about the challenges young Nepalese face and what can be done to address them and to encourage participation by council members in their communities and the larger civil society, seeks applications from interested Nepali youths for 2016-17 cohort.

As part of their one year journey as membership, the fellows get to attend different awareness sessions where people from different walks of life share their experiences of the social projects that they have initiated and how it is impacting the people along with mentoring the members on their planned projects and visions.

In that duration, the council members will get to learn, network and grow through various programmes and projects. They will also be forming teams, propose and implement projects that promote youth engagement in civil society.

The members will also actively participate in various interactive sessions that US Embassy conducts in different times to discuss on various issues.

The members will also involve themselves in different civic engagement projects (CEP), where they get to nurture their leadership skills.

The selected members will engage with the US Embassy from July 2016 to July 2017.

Active youths having the mission to make a difference in their community are highly encouraged to apply.
