Chariot Procession Of Rato Machhindranath Affected Due To Quake

June 1, 2015: The locals of are terrorized due to the ‘Gorkha’ quake which have not been able to come to terms yet, so the Chariot procession of Rato Machhindranath has been still uncertain.

When the earthquake struck bringing it to a halt for the past 36 days, the chariot procession was underway. The chariot procession remains uncertain for lack of devotees to pull the chariot carrying the statues of Rato Machhindranath, revered as the god of good times, Chief of Guthi Santhan, Lalitpur, Rudranath Adhikari, said .

The April 25 quake destroyed the temple but the statues, Ornaments and bhoto (Jewel studded vest) of the Rato Machhindranath were retrieved from the rubble of the Rato Machhindranath temple at Bungamati in Lalitpur.
