Pyuthan, August 17, 2015: In Pyuthan district last fiscal year, a total of 42 small irrigation projects have been constructed.
Some projects were built with help from different donor agencies while the office itself provided financial support for remaining of the projects according to the District Agricultural Development Office, Pyuthan.
Planning Officer at the Office Umesh Shrestha said that along with some technical help each project was provided with financial grants up to Rs 150,000. Apart from the investments of the Office, the farmers have spent some 15 per cent of the total costs on their own.
After the irrigation facility, the farmers are expected to produce more commercial agricultural productions and vegetables.
During the period, Maranthana, Bandikot and Dharmawati VDCs constructed more number of new irrigation projects.
