Phalebas (Parbat),1 Dec 2014: Minister for Education, Chitralekha Yadav, has said that education was the main basis of development.
Laying the foundation stone of a building of the Dhuwakot Mahashila Multiple Campus at Lunkhu VDC in southern Parbat, today, Minister Yadav said that education itself would bring development.
She said, “Now people tend to take roads, electricity and transport only for development but education development is the utmost thing.”
Accepting that the government could not put the education sector in the priority as a development, the Education Minister said that they failed to address the demands of all for lack of sufficient budget in the sector.
Minister Yadav said that a situation has come whereby schools had to be merged for lack of budget. She further said that the Ministry has been preparing to bring a Law targeting the temporary teachers working for many years.
She also said that the role of the school management committee and guardians was important to increase the quality of education at schools.
Similarly, lawmaker Kalpana Chapagain said she would provide maximum support from her side for educational improvement.
Different people including CPN (UML) central member Ganesh Timilsina, lawmaker Bikas Lamsal, outgoing President of Nepali Congress, Parbat, Nabaraj Gurung, among others expressed their views at the programme held under the chairmanship of Campus Board Committee, Sharan Bikram Malla.
