ICC new purposal of ODI league ,a great opportunity for Nepali Cricket proposal

International Cricket Council (ICC) has come up with a plan to introduce a new One-Day International (ODI) league of the world’s top-13 cricket playing nations from 2019 onwards. However, the final decision will be made on ICC annual conference that will begin at the end of the month in Edinburgh .

The ODI League will compromise 13 teams ,10 test playing and 3 non-test playing nations. The league will run for three years and each team will play three-match series against every other opposition. More over, the nation will be free to organise additional ODIs as well but those matches won’t be counted in the league.

Chances for Nepal to play the league
The 13 team will compromise 10 test playing nations along with Afghanistan , Ireland and one other Associate nations. Considering the popularity of Cricket in Nepal, ICC are considering to promote Nepal as the 13th nation to play the league regardless of their ranking in the 2015-17 edition of the World Cricket League Championship.
However, if Nepal gets selected as the 13th nation,the ICC will lead to erode the integrity of their own Structures .
Currently Netherlands are on the top in World Cricket League Championship table.

An Opportunity for Nepali Cricket

Nepali Cricket is in a squeeze of Internal Politics and clashes. Having opportunity to play in the league means Nepal gets yet another opportunity to get exposed in International Level. The players will get regular opportunity to play with International names in Cricket which will help them boost their career in International Level. As the league runs for three years, Nepal also get opportunity to host different countries on their nations as flourish the charm of cricket across the country.
