Kalikot, 12th January, 2015 : Minister for Physical Infrastructure and TransportÂ Bimalendra Nidhi has said the Karnali Corridor highway would not only contribute to the holistic development of the Karnali but also to the national development.
The Minister for Physical Infrastructure said this addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of a concrete bridge over Khulalu
stream at Lalu VDC of Kalikot district.
Stating that Karnali, which is rich in natural resources, has strategic importance, he said he would be dedicated to the preservation of the natural resources including the herbs found in this region.
He said that the lawmakers from the five districts of the Karnali Zone have been goading the government for the development of the region, adding that the responsibility of constructing the Karnali Corridor highway has been given to the Nepalese Army so that it would be completed in time.
Minister Nidhi arrived here accompanied by a 21-member team for carrying out monitoring of development works.
CA member from Kalokot district Mahendra Bahadur Shahi and National Planning Commission (NPC) Vice Chairman Dr Govinda Raj Pokhrel also expressed their views.
The Karnali Corridor highway links the Indian border Jamunaha to Hilsa in Humla district bordering Tibet.
