Kathmandu, April 22, 2018: Bidya Sundar Shakya, the Chair of Kathmandu Metropolitan City mayor has formed an education committee.
The committee was formed to monitor, regulate and direct the schools in the metropolitan city. As per new provision, the local levels have the responsibility of regulating the schools after the state adopted federal setup, which was shared by a Metropolitan City’s information officer, Basanta Acharya.
According to the information, Hariprabha Khadgi, a deputy mayor and other 11 KMC Ward Chairs are Members of the committee and also will make all kinds of policy-level decisions and will prepare the guidelines at committee.
The committee has decided to provide scholarship from the respective Ward offices in the beginning.
