Nepal can use Chittagong and Mangalpur ports: Bangladeshi Ambassador

Kathmandu, November 30, 2015: Ambassador of Bangladesh to Nepal Mashfee Binte Shams has said that her country could permit Nepal to use Chittagong and Mangalpur ports.

At a face to face programme organized by Reporters’ Club in the capital city today the Bangladeshi Ambassador informed that a Nepalese delegation recently visited Bangladesh to discuss the possibilities of matters related to trade and transits.

Ambassador Shams added that Nepal and Bangladesh enjoy a very harmonious relations and her country has recently provided relief materials of 12 million US dollars to the earthquake-survivors in Nepal.

Similarly, Ambassador Shams informed that Bangladesh had exported different 40 electric and lubricant items worth 6 million US dollars to Nepal in the last fiscal year.

Likewise, in response to journalists’ query on supplying fuel to Nepal, Ambassador Shams said Bangladesh itself was the user of large quantity of petroleum products in the country.
