NEPAL AND UZBEKISTAN DRAW IN AFC U-16

Kathmandu, September 7:  In an Under-16 Championship of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) today , Nepal and Uzbekistan was drawn at 1-1 at the Muangthong Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Uzbekistan was successful in defending as both teams were unable to score until half time. Eventually, Uzbekistan scored a goal in eight minutes in the second half taking the lead in the game. In 53 minute of the game, Kuchimov scored the only goal for the match for Uzbekistan.

For the draw, Nepal waited until extra time in the second half. In 93 minute of the game, Kiran Sunwar made a goal and equalized scored for Nepal. Nepali team was playing without its captain of the team, Bimal Ghartimagar. He was yellow-carded twice in the selection round and could not play in the first match.

On September 9, Nepal will play with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in the second match of the tournament who are grouped C along with Nepal. Other team in Group C are Nepal, Kuwait,DPRK and Uzbekistan.

Those teams who will enter semi finale will get a chance to participate in the World Cup Football Championship U-17 next year in Chile.
