Kathmandu, 2 Jan 2014: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has decided to provide monthly salary to the national players by categorizing them in four different groups.
Acting General Secretary of CAN Uttam Karmacharya said that the players would be paid monthly for a year by classifying them in to ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’ and ‘D’ groups.
Cricketers included in Group A would be given Rs 35,000 a month while Rs 25,000 to those of Group B, he said. Likewise, the players in Group C would draw Rs 15,000 a month and Rs 5,000 by the cricketers named in Group D.
Karmacharya said that the players were classified with support from the chief coach Pubudu Dasanayeke adding that the name list of players for Group D is not finalized yet.
Captain Paras Khadka, vice captain Gyanendra Malla, Basanta Regmi, Subas Khakurel, Shakti Gauchan and Sharad Veswakar have been named in Group A.
Likewise, Sagar Pun, Sompal Kami, Binod Bhandari, Naresh Budhayer, Amrit Bhattarai, Mehabub Alam and Bhuwan Karki in Group B while Arif Shekh, Jitendra Mukhiya, Rahul Bishwakarma, Pradip Airi and Anil Mandal in Group C.
The CAN said that Rajesh Pulami, Prithu Baskota, Karan KC and Ramnaresh Giri are likely to be included in Group D.
