Kathmandu, July 8: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development, Prakashman Singh, has said that the new constitution would be promulgated as per the people’s wish.
Speaking at a programme organised by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City-34 here today to honour senior citizens, DPM Singh said the draft of the new constitution would be given a final shape after collecting the people’s feedback regarding this.
He said, “The draft will be put before the people within a few days. You can give your feedback on it.”
The DPM expressed the belief that they would move ahead by amending the draft after incorporating the people’s feedback.
He clarified that there would be no compromise on the basic norms and values of the democracy.
Similarly, Chief Executive Officer at the KMC, Rudra Singh Tamang, said that the new constitution should incorporate a special policy for the senior citizens.
Tamang mentioned that the KMC is going to introduce a special programme.
On the occasion, more than 50 senior citizens above 88 years of KMC ward number 34 were honoured.
