Dhangadhi,4 Dec 2014: Over two dozen police posts which were damaged during the Maoist insurgency are yet to be reconstructed in the Far Western Development Region.
These police posts and units are not constructed due to lack of adequate budget, said Regional Police Office, Dipayal.
According to the statistics of the Regional Police Office, Dipayal, 80 police units and posts were damaged during the insurgency, and of them 34 were completely destroyed.
Some of the police units are constructed with the joint effort of the government and locals and some are still operated in the house of locals in rent.
Of them, 22 were damaged in Kailali, 11 in Kanchanpur, 15 in Achham, eight in Doti, seven each in Dadeldhura and Baitadi, four in Darchula, three in Bajhang and two in Bajura, during the period.
Similarly, a big loss of lives and properties occurred in Achham district during the insurgency period, it is learnt.
